In the Ford portfolio prominent place occupied by pickup trucks, among them the most important place occupy Ford F 150. Its close cousin, a concept that appeared at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show we think is finally time to take its place on the market, called the Ford Atlas.
Since this is a concept, 2017 Ford Atlas Release date is still unknown. Here we describe how we see the new Atlas, with performance and information which was available.
Exterior
Exterior-wise, 2017 Ford Atlas was introduced with double-deck front lights, a strong front fascia accompanied by a rectangular grille which is unbelievably wind-resistant. Apart from these, the vehicle did not undergo any great changes. Roof is made of glass and the trailer is equipped with electric outlet of 110 V. Also, there will be many pints for putting up the ropes. It has five doors and the front will be wrapped in a big chrome mask.
The thing that makes the vehicle lighter is the concept based on an aluminum HVAC system.
Interior
When it comes to the interior, new 2017 Ford Atlas comes with a quite refreshing interior in black and gray shade. The driver seat is made ideally comfortable, wrapped in soft natural leather. Located in the front part of the cabin , there is a large touch-screen display, whereas in front of the back seats, there are touch-screens followed by some other interior features intended for the passengers’ enjoyment.
As for the safety features, it will be offering the pretty much standard features and optional adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors and a lane-keeping system. These are usual safety options, however more devices and details should be known with first official specs. The next generation of Ford Atlas 2017, of course, comes equipped with air-conditioning, diverse web link choices and the New Noise audio system.
The cabin will be dominated by blue color.
Engine and performance
As for the 2017 Ford Atlas powertrain, it will use 5.0-liter V8 engine delivering up to 360 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. The engine will paired up with the 6-speed automatic gearbox.
According to some predictions, the Ford Atlas 2017 should be able to reach 0-60 mph for less than 8.1 seconds.Ford is secretly hoped to reduce the vehicle’s weight, due to the fact its fuel economy is insanely bad.
It has been speculated that the Atlas will be offered with a choice of several engine options, but these engine options have not yet been officially announced.
Update:
Release date
2017 Ford Atlas was expected to hit the market in 2016, but it did not happen. Although the reaction and interest of potential customers for the Ford Atlas concept were fantastic. According to the information we received from our readers, Ford has definitely rejected the project of the new Atlas. Although hope remains that the Ford Atlas will be on our roads in the near future.
Its main competitors will be Chevrolet Silverado, Toyota Tacoma and Dodge Ram 1500.
Can I buy a Atlas?
I’m tired of being teased so come on already
This is a sick truck cant wait to test drive it when it comes out.
This truck is way past due somebody at ford needs to give a definite release date we have waited long enough.
5.0 litre junk. Horrible gas mileage? I cant wait not to buy one. Put the twin turbo v6 in it. 365 hp. Decent gas mileage
I agree…..twin turbo manual will rock
Cant wait to rock this truck. Saw it in 2014 Dubai Motor show
When can I get one?
Please make this truck. I’m buying one when they come out.
Put your best turbocharged diesel in it with manual transmission and it’s in my garage
Still waiting…..
I checked with a couple dealerships and both are saying this truck isn’t happening. Is or isn’t It? Anyone have any inside information?
Ford was 2013 officially unveiled Atlas Concept and announced that the vehicle will be offered to customers during 2017. But still no official confirmation.
Waiting on the atlas hurry up ford
Hopefully ford will make it. A proud owner of F150 I love ford truck. But the Atlas is beautiful! I’m buying it if they make it but it seems nobody knows about its release date and if at all it is going to happen.
Not sure who or why these posts keep appearing! I personally called Ford Motor Company to inquire about the production of the Atlas. A top executive at Ford responded that they will not be producing the Atlas and the concept had been scrapped. So once again the writers and bloggers who have nothing else to do but mislead the general public are at it again! It’s sad really I personally think this truck would have been the game changer for Ford if they could get the fuel milage to match Dodges 25-29 mpg. But as we all know the Oil companies run the universe we live in!
The fuel economy is only capped at 28 mpg, but thats with its ecodiesel v6, but when you compare the normal v6 and v8 in both ford and ram, ford wins out
I would say you know where to put your ford atlas! Obviously there are so many f- 150’s out there, why bring out another model. You can buy one very cheaply with the overstock! I guess I will buy a real truck, a dodge. You have teased me enough and may never get this truck out. Your trucks get terrible gas mileage, so why bring out one that might be better.
Ram’s 3.6L v6 only gets 17 mpg in the city, where Ford’s 5.0L v8 can get 17 or 18 in the city.
Come on Ford I want the exact model as the concept v8 6.2 liter who cares about the gas mileage if is the truck I want…
My wife and I are interested in the Atlas truck, silver in color , it is an awesome Truck , clean and pleasing to the eye 👍😎👍
