2015 Ford Mustang Shelby Super Snake

After launching the 2015 Shelby GT that comes good with 627 hp earlier in the year, Shelby American is at it again. This time they are adding unique features all around, inside and outside of the 2015 Mustang GT to create a true American super muscle automobile.

The new car which will go by the name “ 2015 Ford Mustang Shelby Super Snake ” will be an instant sensation just as its 2007 model.

2015 Ford Mustang Shelby Super Snake Exterior

The 2015 Ford Mustang GT is a good car in its own right; however, Shelby has taken it to unimaginable heights. Shelby has hooked up the Mustang with an array of excellent and creative details that give the Mustang visible aggression and muscle.

The first visible change is at the front where the Mustang features a carbon-fiber Super Snake hood featuring a forced-air scoop that stretches over the central grille. The grille itself has been modified and features a black anodized material which is also featured in the front intakes’ upper and lower portions. For improved aerodynamics, Shelby introduced a carbon-splitter at the front and a complementing carbon-spoiler which hangs off the trunk lid at the back.

Shelby has used carbon-fiber in many of the exterior features which has led to a significant drop in weight. The area below the wings, the taillight panel and the rear diffuser also feature carbon-fiber as well as the rocker panels with side-skirt aero blades located in front of rear wheels.

The Vehicle also features Super Snake racing stripes and external badging. The rear also features Borla exhaust with Shelby tips. The Super Snake will ride on 20-inch Weld Racing wheels which are wrapped in high performance Michelin Pilot super Sport tires.

The cabin comes with awesome upgrades just as the exterior does. At the dash board, Shelby has added a gauge pod which is made from carbon fiber. This gauge pod houses AutoMeter gauges that displays important information to the driver such as oil pressure and boost pressure.

To keep cog swaps neat and fine, there is a Ford Performance short-throw shifter. There are several options for other extras such as racing seats, Shelby valve covers, 5-point racing harnesses and an upholstery overhaul among others.

Engine Specs and Performance

Under the hood is where things get most exciting. The Mustang on which the Snake is built on is powered by a 5.8 L V8 engine that produces 435 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque which in itself is pretty powerful. To increase the “juice” Shelby added a Ford Performance Supercharger kit that shoots the output to 627 hp for the standard version and 750 hp for the optional package. 2015 Ford Mustang Shelby Super Snake accelerates 0-60 mph in 4 seconds and reaches a top speed of around 186 mph.

Power is routed to the wheels with the help of half shafts and 3.73 gears. Customers will choose either a 6-speed-manual transmission system or a 6-speed automatic transmission system. Shelby has hooked the Super Snake with a Ford Performance suspension kit that features new sway bars, a jounce bumper and hardware package, lower springs and a rear toe-link kit to ensure excellent handling.

Other features include 6-piston brakes, a brake duct kit, adjustable rear control alarm as well as redesigned intercooler and cooling kits for differential and transmission.

Price and release date

The 650 hp package has a base price of $ 49,999 adding that to the cost of acquiring the base 2015 Mustang GT at $ 32,300, the new 2015 Ford Mustang Shelby Super Snake makes an $82,299 in your bank account.

Competition

The super snake will do battle with Dodge Challenger’s Hellcat rated at 707 hp as well as the Chevrolet Camaro at a lower 505 hp output but at around  $ 10,000 less.
