The Ford Galaxy is a highly regarded multipurpose vehicle. The vehicle resembles the S-Max but is a bit longer. Ford is set to replace the current third generation of the model which has been in existence since 2006 with a more modern version for the 2017 model year.

Taking a tour around the MPV’s exterior profile, you will recognize that it is larger than its predecessors. Its windscreen is also larger while its nose seats lower than the outgoing models. In terms of its dimensions, the Galaxy extends 187.8 inches long, 74.2 inches wide and stands at 65.4 inches.
At the front, the new vehicle features a redesigned trapezoidal stripe grille flanked by laid back, LED headlights. The front bumper is also revised and features a large air intake while the bottom part of the bumper is fitted with modified fog lights. At the back, the vehicle will feature a redesigned upright tailgate and Mondeo-like tail lamps.
Lower trim levels of the MPV will ride on 16-inch alloy wheels while higher trims will feature 17-inch alloy wheels.

The cabin of the 2017 ford Galaxy will not feature many changes rather; the automaker will only tweak it to make it look more posh and modern. The cabin will accommodate 7 passengers on its three-row seating arrangement. The seats will be upholstered in a quality cloth for low trims and leather in higher trims.
The vehicle will feature a new angular flattop dash which unfortunately won’t be as sporty as that of the outgoing model. Soft plastics will cover most of the MPVs cabin surfaces. The driver’s seat is power adjustable as is the steering wheel. Ford will not offer a touch-screen and navigation system as standard, but rather as an option which will attract a $ 2,000 price tag. Also the automaker will provide an option for a rear seat DVD entertainment system featuring small screens fitted at the back of the front seats headrests.
The vehicle offers plenty of cargo space which can be further expanded by folding the rear seats. The MPV will also feature an 18-speaker acoustic system. Expect Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports and Smartphone integration.
In terms of safety, the vehicle will be fitted with a tire pressure monitoring system, intelligent speed limiter, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, auto braking with pedestrian detection and adaptive LED headlights as standard. Other features will be offered as an option.
Engine Specs and performance
There is no official information as of now about potential drive-train options under the hood of the 2017 Ford Galaxy. However, according to rumors, the vehicle will feature a diesel engine and two petrol mills.
The diesel engine will be a 2.0 L, 4-cylinder TDCI unit capable of producing 162 hp. On the other hand, the first petrol engine will be a 1.5 L, 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine which is capable of producing 160 hp while the second gasoline engine will be a 2.0 L, 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine rated at 180 hp.
All the three engines will be mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission system that will channel power to the front wheels. It is not clear whether there will be an option for AWD but it is likely. Price and release date
The 2017 Ford Galaxy will be released in the second half of 2016. The automaker is yet to announce price as it is too early for that. However its price won’t vary much from that of the current models. Starting price is around $ 40,000 MSRP, while for the diesel engine and the higher levels of equipment should be counted and over $ 50,000.
