They must offer a rear wheel drive V8 option , or it will be a bust with the traditional Town Car Buyers !!!
I could not agree more.
I have been driving the Lincoln Town Car since 1996 and I agree with Dennis’ comment 100%!!!
I have just the thing to make you DROOL!! I currently have a 1997 last year they made it, square body Signature limited in nice shape outside and Immaculate inside. Silver with black top and black leather inside. Runs and rides like a dream with 146,000 Mls. on it. LOVE my Town Car!!! Bought it in Oct. 2016. They just don’t get any better, 18 ft. long with a 5300 Lb. curb weight!
I got this sweet 2012 MKS with 147,000 miles on it. It has the cool sleek trunk entrance that nothing larger than a toaster will fit through. The engine purrs like a cross between the old V8 town car and a 72 toyota corrolla. Plastic and fake pleather adorn the contoured dash system. Shifting paddles are standard on all models even if you can’t ever figure out why you would want to be shifting with your finger tips while your frantically turning through winding city streets. Oh, and if you forgot you had it manual paddle shift, then instead of safely shifting for you like it does on the upshift, it lets your engine redline it until it freezes up. Nice car though. I love the little multicolored lights that come standard. They even have a dedicated switch on the dashboard just for the colors of these little lights. So important that I have a strategically located color selection switch. Blue! push it again RED! ooh. Now we’ll just go back to normal boring white for a while. Or you can get crazy again! GREEN BLUE RED OOOOOH RAINBOWS!!!!! all while driving 70 mph through rush hour traffic!
rear wheel drive and air suspension are necessities!
Owned Towncars for many years, traded the last one for an MKS, great car but definitely no Towncars.
The 2016 Lincoln must have; the 4.6 litre V8 motor,
cloth seating, air suspension, RWD (rear wheel drive)
NO sun/moon roof, digital dash readout, decent tire
sizing; NOT the recent squatty things we see today.
I drove a 1996 Lincoln Town Car Executive sedan for
17 years, what a dream, and excellent gas mileage
to boot.
have owned 3 towncars, 1984, 1988, and 1994 loved them all. after the redesign they lost something with me. the new towncar needs to go back to leather luxury with a good ride and good power. love the stately look of the grill. the mustache look does not look elegant.
Have owned 5 since 1992, would definitely want all wheel drive or rear wheel drive and air suspension. Bought all new and have never had any major problems. Looking forward to buying another.
V-8 option by sure and RWD. Ford have to listen the owner and the driver no the car designers!
Had many town cars over the years and presently own a 2003 and a 2010 looking forward to a new model coming out but it would be nice if I could get a 6 passenger .
Completely agree with the above comments concerning rear wheel drive, air suspension and a V8 engine. Unfortunately for Town Car it was manufactured until 2010 in a plant that no longer exists in St. Thomas Ont. Ford pulled the plug on Town Car, Grand Marquis and Crown Victoria……….and quite a few jobs I might add. I currently have a 2006 Town Car and a 2014 F150 Platinum. The Lincoln is trouble free……… The F150 is the Ecoboost that should have been named Edsel!!!!!!! I am sorry to say I do believe I have lost faith in Ford. Wont be buying another one……..(would reconsider if it was a traditional and proven V8 rear wheel drive.)
Had a 1989 Lincoln Town Car…..no other car to compare with…Had to get a 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis…..no comparition….I have to be able to carry a wheel chair inside and the Town Car was the only car I could do, as I am physically unable to pull/lift a wheel chair from the trunk bed…..so, Please get 6 psgr. Town Car with LEG Room front and back seat area……
